Saying “I Love You” Can Make You Healthier
Have you ever noticed the pleasant, soothing feeling you get when you express you love or affection towards someone who is important to you- like family, friends, and, of course, your man? The results of a study conducted by Professor Kory Floyd from Arizona State University, show a strong link between the level of affection people are willing to express in their everyday life, and the state of their mental and physical health. The more affectionate the person is, the healthier he is.
The results of the study show that expressing love and affection has the same benefits to people who are generally affectionate and the ones who usually aren’t. However, simply meaning to be affectionate, or thinking about your love interest does not give you the benefits. As a matter of fact, only thinking about your loved ones increases the level of stress you are experiencing. In order to get the stress reducing benefit, you must take action, like writing a lover letter.
By now we all know the positive effects a hug has on a person mental and physical health. It can make a big difference. As a matter of fact, a 10 minute embrace from your man will improve your well being dramatically. Too bad most men are too impatient. The 10 minute hug can be relaxing enough to make you “open to suggestions,” even when you are not in the mood.
Just to show that I have learned from my research, let me use this opportunity to say “ I Love You” my dear blog reader.
