Purple Love Real Story-Hooray for the Male Aggression.

This situation is not quite uncommon-a man will come around flirt with you, compliment you, tell you that show wonderful, but if you don’t give him what he wants (and many times what they want is not just unreasonable, but straight out their fantasyland), he will soon turn into a monster calling you a bitch and telling you how unworthy you think you are.  And you’re left there wondering, what the hack just happened?  Did everything he said was a lie?  And what’s the deal anyway-to they lack some essential social skills, or are some men just crazy?

This is what happened today to my friend Sarah, in her words:

“This afternoon I decided to take a walk home.  In the middle of the way I’ve noticed that someone was following me on a bicycle for maybe 10 or 15 minutes.  I wasn’t blocking anyone’s way, so I just kept on walking happily, not aware of what was yet to come. And then, the same guy started riding his bicycle right beside me, forcing me onto the grass.  And he wasn’t shy or anything, he was checking me out from head to toe; checking my butt and not taking his eyes off me.  I kept on walking, hoping that he would just go away, but he didn’t.  So turned around and said “hello” in a kind of dismissive manner to show a lack of interest.

I kept on trying to tell him to go away, but each time, he would just say that he couldn’t hear me, lying and giving me a sly smile. And then he started circling around me.  Realizing that he might as well follow me for another 15 to 20 minutes-  I just stood in place and let him go ahead. But he kept coming back.  The look on his face told me he was aware of and enjoying of the fact that he was getting on my nerves; sort of like a cat playing with a mouse.  For the second time I’ve tried to lose him by walking slower (I think he had to ride faster or otherwise he would have fallen off the bike).  Eventually I gave him the finger- this usually works!  But he just came back and told me to show that “sexist” gesture again (what? You must be kidding right?). That was it for me, I told him to go screw himself.  But he just started telling me to repeat what I just said.  I didn’t even know what to do.  And had then he turned around with a vicious look and said, ‘this is why some men beat the shit out of women like you.’ Wow, I guess he was one of those men.  So he figured he had every right to ruin my walk, or did I owe him anything? Should I tell you about that time my girlfriends and I had to leave the club because some guys would not leave us alone? “

Nope, Sarah, not today. Men are easy to find, good men aren’t.
